Everyone has awards. But Twitch needed one that felt like Twitch.

It started with a heart.
The BleedPurple emote is one of those little pieces of Twitch culture that says a lot: dedication, passion, and community. So when it came time to design the award, we took that idea to heart—literally. We turned the iconic chat emote into a physical trophy, transforming something millions of people recognize on screen into something streamers could actually hold.

From chat icon to keepsake. The heart became the award.

The Bleed Purple Award celebrates the people who go above and beyond for the Twitch community—recognizing the passion, creativity, and energy that make Twitch, well… Twitch. And because a normal trophy felt a little too normal, we made it unmistakably purple.

We started with renders.

Lots of renders. And we knew one thing right away: no bronze, silver, or gold. This is Twitch. So instead of the usual award hierarchy, we went full purple, marble and chrome, and unmistakably Twitch.

First Streams to Big Dreams

An award is cool. The stories behind it are cooler. We wanted to tell the stories behind it, from first streams to big dreams. So we made a mini-doc celebrating the streamers receiving the Bleed Purple Award, sharing where they started, how they found their way to Twitch, and the communities they built along the way.

And then came the unboxing.

Because what’s an award without the big reveal? We gave recipients a package worth opening, and the unboxings naturally followed. When the likes of Kai Cenat, CaseOh, and some of Twitch’s biggest icons started opening their awards on camera, it spread like wildfire.

What started as a package quickly became a moment the whole community wanted to be part of.
